Orchestra Enigmatic was founded in 2012 by a small group of musicians that were looking for a new experience in music making. They created a uniquely 21st-century chamber group that performs and collaborates with ensembles and artists, while placing an early emphasis on performance of music that is too small, too new, or too exotic to find a home in the classical orchestral canon.

Our core ensemble is 18 players (string octet, bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, piano, percussion), but we regularly program music for both fewer and greater numbers with guest artists.

Orchestra Enigmatic exists in the space between the traditional chamber orchestra and the small chamber group by maintaining an agile production model as well as developing a repertoire complete with works for varying sizes of ensembles.
